Before booking with The Bugs Adventures, please review our terms and conditions. By joining one of our trips, you agree to the guidelines outlined here. These terms are in accordance with Norway’s Package Travel and Travel Guarantee Act (LOV-2018-06-15-32). The Bugs Adventures has provided a guarantee to the travel guarantee fund.
General
Our trips take place in remote, adventurous areas where risks may occur. While our experienced crew is well-trained to handle emergencies, The Bugs Adventures is not liable for accidents. It’s essential to follow guide instructions to ensure your safety. Treks like Mount Kilimanjaro come with natural risks such as altitude sickness or injuries. We take every precaution to keep you safe.
Travel Documents & Health
Travelers are responsible for carrying valid passports, visas, and required documents. It’s also your responsibility to have appropriate travel and cancellation insurance, and to consult a travel health clinic for necessary vaccinations before departure.
Payments
A 4,000 NOK deposit is required 90 days before departure to confirm your booking. For trips including flights, an additional 15,000 NOK must be paid for ticket reservations. Full payment is due 60 days before travel. Late or incomplete payments may result in cancellation.
Cancellations
Cancel 80+ days before: Full refund minus 2,000 NOK admin fee
Cancel 40–79 days before: 50% refund
Cancel under 40 days or no-show: No refund
Flight cancellations follow the airline’s policy.
Insurance
Travel insurance covering the full trip period, including medical evacuation and return transport, is required.

Tipping Guidelines
Tipping is a standard and expected part of Kilimanjaro treks, as it significantly supplements porters’ incomes. While exact amounts vary depending on the size of your group and the route, a general guideline is:
Porters: $6–10 USD per porter per day
Cooks: $10–15 USD per day
Guides and Assistant Guides: $15–25 USD per day
It’s best to pool tips as a group and distribute them during a formal tipping ceremony at the end of the trek, showing your appreciation directly.
How many kilos can a porter carry on Kilimanjaro?
Following the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP) porter load weight limit is 20 kilograms (44-pounds). A porter’s job is challenging. Splitting the weight among many people means a safer and more efficient climb.
When is the best time to go on safari with Lille Bille?

Are children allowed in The Bugs Adventures?
Lille Bille can set any kind of adventure according to the age of the clients. There are no specific age limits. However, children from fifteen and under must be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons. Lille Bille also designs special trips for families and provides an exciting educational experience for high schools and colleges.Â
Is airfare included in my safari price?
We have packages that include airfare and packages that start on arrival in Tanzania. What is included in the package, will be listed in the programs. If you can’t find the information you are looking for, please don’t hesitate to contact us for assistance.Â
What are the entry requirements to enter Tanzania?
It’s the travelers own responsibility to be updated and to know what the entry rules are. You can buy a tourist visa on arrival at the airport in Tanzania. A visa costs 50 $, and it is valid for 3 months.Â
What medical precautions should I take before traveling to Tanzania?
It is worthwhile to protect your health and take basic precautions to ensure a smooth trip. Talk with your doctor or travel medicine specialist one to two months before your trip to discuss medical issues related to your travel destination. Travelers to Africa must take responsibility for obtaining required or recommended vaccinations. Proof of vaccination may be required for entry into the country or for return entry into your originating country.Â
Your doctor can advise you of the latest health precautions, as vaccination requirements are subject to change.Â
What are the time differences in Tanzania?
Tanzania is one or two hours before Norway, depending on whether it is summertime or wintertime.Â
What are the local currencies, and where can I exchange currency?
The official currency is the Tanzanian shilling. Major currencies such as the U.S. dollar and the Euro are easily exchanged in large towns, although dollars are sometimes preferred. Additionally U.S. dollars must be dated 2006 at the earliest or many places in Tanzania will not accept them.
When are banks open?
Banks are open from 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. Some banks also are open from 8:30am to 1pm on Saturdays.
Can I use my credit card for purchases made while in Tanzania?
Credit cards are accepted only at major lodges and hotels. Many banks are equipped to advance cash on Visa and MasterCard.Â
Is tipping a common practice in Tanzania?
In our packages we include everything and also good salary to our crew, tipping is always appreciated as encouraged for safari guides and other crews but is not mandatory.Â
Will I have access to the Internet while on safari? How about international phone services?
While communication in remote areas will be limited, most major hotels and lodges offer internet services as well as international telephone and fax services. Additionally, private communication centers and cyber cafes in larger towns enable tourists to stay connected.Â
Some centers may close on Sundays and public holidays. The cellular networks in Tanzanian generally cover most safari destinations, large towns and tourist areas.Â
What types of electrical outlets are used in Tanzania?
The electrical current in lodges and hotels is 220 volts. If you plan to bring 110-volt electrical devices, it’s suggested that you pack an electrical converter and an adapter plug set (socket configurations in destination countries vary between the two-pronged variety and the three-pronged variety).Â
