Gombe National Park

Established in 1968, Gombe Stream National Park it is one of the smallest national parks in Tanzania, with only 35 km² of protected land along the hills of the eastern shore of Lake Tanganyika.
Home for Primates
Gombe Stream National Park is a home for monkeys and the primates . The dense jungle, which some may describe as a true Tarzan-like setting, makes Gombe a perfect home for the Chimpanzees . However the chimp sighting is never guaranteed. With experienced guides the chances are good.

Diversity Landscape!

The park is comprised of diversity landscapes, from grasslands, woodlands, steep valleys, and tropical rainforest. Because of its remote location and access flight or boat are the only way to reach this circuit.

Follow Jane Goodall’s footsteps and experience the chimpanzees from up close! Gombe is one of three places in Tanzania where you can see chimpanzees. The Park is located on the western border of Tanzania.

Gombe National Park key facts

Birds, butterflies, and a wide variety of rare forest flora can be spotted during forest walks and chimpanzee treks. There are no large predators in Gombe Stream, apart from the occasional leopard sighting.

Dry season

On dry season the Park can be warm and humid. Daytime temperatures can reach up 26°C and it cools down at night to around 18°C.

At this season of the year, rarely rains all day, but afternoon thundershowers can be expected
