Ndutu Plains is one of the best places in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to spot predators, enjoying stunning landscapes and it’s the midst calving ground for migratory wild animals, specifically the wildebeest migration.

Home for new borns

From December to March is the Calving season. A massive herds of wildebeest and zebra can be seen all over the plains. Thousands of calves are born, making Ndutu a new home for new borns on Earth.

Ndutu is composed of vast swaths of short grassland, soda-lake Masek, marshes, and woodland vegetation that support both residents and migratory animals.

Cool and dry season

Generally, the weather in Ndutu throughout the summer months will be around 25°C (77°F) Skies will usually be bright and clear Cold fronts have been known to occasionally blow through, with temperatures dropping close to freezing (especially at night)
 

Wet and hot season

The short rains from November to December are the first to break the grip of the dry season. These rains are unpredictable and are unlikely to interfere with your safari.
 

Hot Season

January and February marks the period of time between the two wet seasons and travellers can expect a brief reprieve from the rain in these months Expect moderate temperatures around 25°C (77°F) during the day and about 14°C (57°F) at night
